On The Run
Last night I went to the On The Run Tour in Chicago. I’m still freaking out because it was literally amazing and worth every last penny. I’ll share a couple pictures later in the post and even a video or two on our Instagram (elansociety). This outfit is kind of my plan b. I originally planned on wearing some acid wash shorts with this look, but Chicago weather is not very stable. I’m actually really glad that I wore shorts because temperature did drop once the show started. For people who were not able to attend one of the 21 shows, don’t worry because it will air on HBO in September. By the way guys, I have and may continue to be a little M.I.A. on the blog because I am working on a documentary about restoring hope in Chicago youth entitled This Is Chicago. It’s currently set to come out in the fall so be on the look out for that!

For this final look I gained inspiration from Tinashe’s song and mixtape titled Black Water. Kind of cliche with the ocean in the back and me wearing all black, but you guys get the point. I wore this black kimono, black shimmer leggings and my black loafers. Just a casual fit for the final dinner of the cruise.

Again with the prints? Yes, I can’t help it! I wore these peg pants once before a year ago on the blog. This time around instead of heels and a basic tee, I dressed it up a tad bit more with this cream mesh top and almond toes flats. This one was for one of the dinners on the ship. Classy and comfortable, just like I like it.

Earlier on this day I was in St. Maarten, sadly the last port of the cruise.
Later that night at dinner our waiters brought a dessert over to celebrate my parent’s 22nd anniversary. So cute!
Here Comes The Sun
I honestly don’t know what it is but every time summer rolls around I go print crazy and just stock up on floral and palm prints. In this look today I was in St. Thomas. There I enjoyed a very informative island tour and even travelled to the world famous mountain top. In this look I wanted to embody the tropical ambiance by wearing these palm print shorts. I fell in love with them the first time I saw them. Paired with a simple white top and a pair of white and gold sandals, I was ready for all the island had to offer.

If you follow us on Instagram you’re no stranger to this dress, but if you don’t, you just might want to follow us now (elansociety). This little dress has quickly turned into a personal fave. As I don’t own many casual dresses, this makes up for it. It is a skater and skirt and if flows as I walk. I really love this dress. It was one of my smartest purchases. This past week I went on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas for a family vacation. I wore it on the first night of the cruise for dinner at the Samba Grill, which is a Brazilian steakhouse, and for a nighttime showing of Broadways’s CHICAGO.

The next day was our first port of call in the Bahamas and while I didn’t document my outfit from that day due to rain, I do have some shots (below) from the balcony of my stateroom. Also, while my family and I were in the Bahamas we enjoyed a segway tour around the island.
Summer is creeping around the corner and I am definitely ready. I plan on having lots of fun personal and fashion wise, putting interesting pieces together and creating cool outfits. This simple white football jersey is from American Apparels men’s section and the white bottoms are from ASOS. Both were great for my pockets and my closet. Oh and the shoes! They’re from ASOS as well. I love this outfit because it’s easy to go from lunch to the beach and very heat friendly. And who doesn’t love all white?

Just A Taste
I wore this for my school’s career day yesterday as I was an ambassador. A little different from my usual casual looks, this outfit remains comfortable. I’ve owned these pants for a little over a year now and have only worn them twice. I have got to get more wear out of them! The shirt was a lucky last minute find. The lace detail adds a more delicate touch to this look. These shoes have a great texture with amazing gold detailing.

The entire day I couldnt get Just A Taste by Tinashe out of my head and it inspired me to title this post after it! Check it out below:
Pretty boring outfit? Not quite. This shirt has a little surprise embroidered on the back. I found this shirt in the ASOS Sale bin and am so glad I got it before it sold out. Also, I wanted to get my last wear out of these leather pants before it got too hot to pull out of my closet.

This past Sunday I celebrated my birthday. I just went out for dinner with my friends, but I wanted to dress up, since I’ve never really done it before. Opting for my usual neutral palette, I pieced together this outfit! The material of this skirt is very stretchy and comfortable, which was a good surprise. To be honest, I was inspired by Kim Kardashian. I’m sure we’ve all seen her wearing midi skirts recently, frequently, and well. Definitely one of my fashion inspirations.

I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been into lace a lot more lately. Here in Chicago the weather hasn’t reached it’s full spring potential, but it’s warm enough for this dainty lace crop top…and my loafers! I’ve missed wearing my loafers so much. The little gold toe just adds so much to an outfit. Girls, if you don’t own a pair of loafers, get one, or three, now!

I can’t seem to stop buying black, not that that’s a problem, per se. This blouse is so loose-fitting, laid-back, and comfortable. It was pretty sheer, so I just paired it with a tank under it. Okay, I have a confession to make…I saw my fave Beyoncé wearing black distressed jeans, so I went out and bought a pair. This may or may not have turned into a get the look for less episode.

I’m so tired of wearing boots but Chicago doesn’t seem to want to give up the winter just yet.

I Lost Angeles
Okay guys! This outfit is giving me..relaxed-cool. This crop top features a pun for Los Angeles, obviously! I liked it because it was so simple, but noteworthy. These distressed jeans may not have stolen the show, but they have been added to my top 5 favorite denim. I’m very particular when it comes to everything clothes-wise and these really just hit the nail right on top of the head. The best part about them was that they were originally $50, but with my 40% off code, it came down to $36! (Yes, I’m a strong advocate for discounts.) My white Converse completed this cool look.
